Origination
​The Coptic Church was established in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by St. Mark the Evangelist in the city of Alexandria around 43 A.D. The church adheres to the Nicene Creed. St. Athanasius (296-373 A.D.), the twentieth Pope of the Coptic Church effectively defended the Doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ's Divinity at the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D.
St.Mary
Our beloved and holy Mother Saint Mary, the Mother of God (Theotokos), was born to devout parents in the city of Nazareth. St. Joachim and St. Anna entreated God for a child for St. Anna was barren and advanced in years. God, who hears the prayers of the righteous, sent Archangel Gabriel to announce to St. Joachim the joy that St. Anna would conceive and give birth to a child.
St.Pope Kyrillos
St. Pope Kyrillos on August 2, 1912 from Christian parents. His father was a deacon spends his spare time teaching and writing tunes hagiography. He loved the church and he was spending long hours in his room praying, and reading the Bible. It was usually the whole family every year, spent one week in the town of Lapierre during the celebration of the Feast of Saint Mar Mina.When he was 25 years old Lazarus quit his job and joined the monastery Baramus. The name was changed to the brother Mina was loved by all the monks to his care and help for the monks and elderly patients.
Our Diocese
In October 2013, His Grace Bishop Saraphim became the Deputy of HH Pope Tawadros II for North America. His Grace served in this role until July 2014. Afterwards, His Grace served once again with His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion from July 2014 until July 2016. Most recently, His Grace was assigned to serve in the newly projected Diocese of Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana from July 2016 until November 2017, when he was finally ordained the Bishop of the Diocese.
